My Eyes Are Now Wide Open

My Eyes Are Now Wide Open is a hallucinatory dance ceremony for the coming-conscious generation. Using the icon of fallen internet provocateur Kanye West, a choir of yahoo performers get caught up in the monotony of their own voices and struggle to see under bright lights. As soundbites rinse themselves of meaning and their actions become more grandiose, the silver figures fall in and out of unity and slip in the paint they’re clad in. This is a noisy and vivid exploration into the capitalisation of identity and the ways we present ourselves to a public.

Presented in the Chandler Studio Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, December 2018.
